Changes to the SAT

Check out this NY Times Article Alexa shared about the changes to the New SAT (2016) that aims to be more closely aligned with schoolwork.

“You may have already heard about this, but big changes are afoot for the SAT in  2016: essay will become optional and will ask them to analyze text, they will remove the wrong answer penalty, vocabulary words will shift from the arcane to the academic (think “empirical” and “synthesis”), the scoring will go back to 1600 (currently its 2400) AND (much like PARCC) they will have to cite evidence from text to back up their multiple choice answers to readings….”
