Super Heroes, Gayle Danley’s Spoken Word, Day 9 of NPM

Gayle Danley’s Spoken Word poem, Super Heroes challenges the superheroes of popular culture with those real super heroes in our everyday lives (including, at times, us). I love the concept – and I love the idea of transferring that concept to the classroom where our students could write their own “Super Heroes” poems about the real heroes in their lives.  This could be assignment enough — or could be a prewriting/idea-gathering assignment for personal narrative.

Note: There are two curses that are clearly intended, but students will not hear.
